“I will be their God and they will be my people.” This was not something God said once in passing or something he said because he got excited or got emotional. It’s not even something that was just a single prophetic promise. God said this multiple times to multiple generations, from Abraham to Jeremiah and many more people. It’s what God said because it’s always been what God has wanted. It’s what God wanted when he made us and it’s what God wanted when we fell and it’s what God still desires as he continues to pursue us.
In this week’s sermon, Pastor Abie Kulynych answers two questions, how did we who were once not a people become God’s own special people? and what do we do with it?, as he reminds us that, “We Are the People of God. ”
