Most of us know what to expect with the Christmas story; we know the characters, so we tend to move through it quickly. But if we move too quickly, there is so much we can miss. God became a man. That is the reality we celebrate, but can we really fathom it though? The humility of God in the Christmas story should be overwhelming to us. The incarnation is so much more than a baby in a manger surrounded by animals. It is the most unexpected thing to ever happen. This morning we will talk about the unexpected characters of the Christmas story and it is my prayer that we will be so moved by these unexpected characters, that we will ask Jesus to allow us to be the unexpected characters of His return.
