We will be joining area churches in a service of remembrance, worship, confession and prayer in response to the killings at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, SC last week. The service will be held this Wednesday night, June 24th, at Bethlehem AME Church located at 213 East Pearl Street in Burlington. The service will begin at 7:00. There is a large crowd expected, Bethlehem AME Church can accommodate 200 people in the sanctuary, chairs, tents and loud speakers are being set up outside for overflow crowds, if you would like to be able to inside the sanctuary I would suggest arriving early. Please join in prayer with us that this service would be, as the organizers have prayed, a time to show our faith “in the power of God to turn tragedy to triumph, death into life, hatred into love, and racial division into unity.” If you have any questions please feel free to email [email protected].
