Jesus’ final message to the churches of Asia Minor contain two of His most famous but most misunderstood and misused statements of the entire letter. He told the church at Laodicea, “I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.” We often hear this talked about. Jesus wishes that we would be for Him or against Him; to be committed one way or the other. Does that really make sense? Does that match the character that He’s shown throughout the Scriptures? Can He will that none would perish and then wish that we would hurry and make up our mind, not caring which way we choose?… Join us on this session, as we discuss the all-important topic of awareness. The awareness of knowing our own hearts, in both strength and weakness, and knowing God’s character. It’s easy to know where we stand when we acknowledge the truth of who we are and the character of the One who has promised to always stand with us.
