Hello CORF Family,
What a joy, what a blessing it was to see many of you last Sunday evening as we came together, even for a brief moment, to spend some much needed time in one place. We’re thankful for everyone who was able to make it. We’re also thankful for your continued giving as we continue to support the local community and our partners overseas in these uncertain times.
In this week’s bible reading plan, we read about two people who were devoted, Simeon and Anna. The former waited for the consolation of Israel and the latter the redemption of Jerusalem. In the case of Anna, God made sure that we knew exactly how devoted she was and the time of her consistent living. She became a widow as a young woman and committed her life in the temple to worship with fasting and prayer day and night until she was 84 years old. Now that’s devotion. We may not all be Anna, but we can certainly grow in our devotion as the early church did, “And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.” Acts 2:42
