We continue our series “We” with a focus on the why and not the how of the communion. We are not going to eat together tonight because it is important that we learn more, that we listen more, that we grab hold of more before we start trying to do. This is not a technical teaching on the passover or the Lord’s Supper. We are not going to get into the depth of them being the same meal, not one replacing the other or what Jesus even meant when he said through Paul, “As often as you drink it.” So be patient. We are going to get to those things, but we are just not going to get to them tonight. The question is why do we eat and drink. Why do we do this thing that has become a habit and an ordinance. Our guest speaker Butch Ireland and pastor Abie Kulynych answer this main question in this sermon, “We Eat in Remembrance.”
