This Sunday we had the great joy and privilege of joining with our friends at Grace Alliance Chapel for a combined Sunday worship service.
We follow Jesus together. When God said it was not good for man to be alone, He was not just talking about Adam or marriage, but rather all of mankind. We are meant to be connected to God and to each other. To be dependent on God and interdependent on each other. Jesus is the one that binds us, that is the foundation for our connection, even when that is all we have to be connected. What we see with the 12 disciples is a group of men that contained fishermen, a zealot, a tax collector, and a thief- men who would have been opposed to each other had it not been for Jesus bringing them together. Unity is not about finding those that agree with us or look like us but recognizing who Jesus has joined to us. Unity is when we come together for the glory of God, not for our sake. This morning I pray, that we would see that the commitment is not to each other, but to God who joined us and that we would be those who desire unity.
