When Jesus heard that Lazarus was sick, He stayed where He was. He stayed because of love. In John 11:6-7 we read “So, when He heard that he was sick, He stayed two more days in the place where He was. Then after this He said to the disciples, ‘Let us go to Judea again.’” Jesus stayed because of love and THEN He went because of love. He went because of the disciples. They did not want to go back to Judea, they felt it wasn’t safe. But with God there is always a “then”; it prepares for the end of one thing and the beginning of the next. The Israelites were enslaved and THEN Moses came. Goliath struck fear and THEN David came. Jesus was crucified and THEN He rose from the dead. We have to learn how to see God’s love in the staying and the going. To trust Him in the waiting and the doing. This morning, I pray that we would see that no matter what we see today that there is going to be a “then”, that we would be ready to let God move through our lives and expose our hearts so that He can bring healing and take us to places we do not want to go so that we can see things we did not know.
